                       What does to be pregnant mean?

Pregnancy is the time a woman is carrying a developing baby inside of her womb. This process usually takes 40 weeks which is 9 months. Throughout this process the baby is developing a heart, a brain and other virtual components to live. There are three stages in a pregnancy: First Semester, Second Semester and Third Semester.

First Semester: During this trimester, the baby grows faster than at any other time. By six weeks, a heartbeat can usually be heard and by the end of week 12,  the baby's bones, muscles and all the organs of the body have formed. At this point, the baby looks like a tiny human being and is now called a fetus. 

Second Semester: As well as feeling and looking more pregnant during these weeks, the woman may also have more energy than they did in the first trimester. Through the second trimester, the pregnant woman will see her 'bump' grow and later she will start to feel her baby moving.

Third Semester: During this final trimester the final touches of the baby’s development are occurring, such as growing eyelashes. During this time the woman is preparing to give birth because at 40 weeks it is time for the baby to be born.
